Makeup Galore!

Buckle your seat belts ladies, this is going to be a long post!  I've gotten several emails lately asking what kind of lipstick I use, if I use foundation, what type of blush color I use and so on.  First of all, let me say how flattered I am, that you even notice the color of my cheeks!  A big thank you for lifting my spirits!!  I have had a little bit of a love affair with make-up since I was a little girl.  I am rarely seen without some form of make-up on.  You don't want to witness that.  I will have complete strangers come up to me and say, "oh dear, are you sick?"  I respond kindly, "no, I'm just not wearing any make-up!!"  Then I turn and yell in my head "GEEESH!!"  I wish I had that type of skin and eyes where I could get away with it, but I am not fortunate in that area.  So, I make due!

Here are my favorite items that I wear and love them to pieces!

I'm a huge fan of Bobbi Brown, not the "It's My Prerogative" guy, but the make-up!
I use the skin foundation with SPF 15 in Porcelain
This stuff goes on so smoothly and protects against the sun.

I love the pressed powder as well in porcelain.  I am out of this right now, so I have been using Pixi Flawless Finishing Powder from Target.  It goes on great and is priced even better.

I am a brush girl all the way!  The brush is essential for good application!  Unfortunately, they need to be washed at least once a week.  But, if you take care of your brushes, they will last a very long time.
I love this blush brush

I don't have this cheek color, it would look hideous on me!  My color is Pink Clay.  It is the right combo of taupe and pink together.

If you have dark circles under your eyes, then concealer is a must.  I love this creamy concealer with powder to seal it, from Bobbi Brown.  My color is, but of course, Porcelain.

I can't say enough about Bobbi Brown's eye shadows!  They are a little pricey, but last FOREVER!!!
The colors I own are
Java ~ A dark brown
Sable ~ a light reddish brown (this is what I use to define my eyebrows
Khaki ~ a taupey green color

This is my eyeliner.  I put it on with the below brush.  I have problems with pencil eyeliner smudging and once this is put on, it does not move!  Seriously!  You make a mistake, you better hurry and spit on your finger quick, cause you've got 5 seconds top, to fix it.  It is greatness!
My colors are:
Espresso Ink ~ Dark brown
Forest shimmer Ink ~ dark green

Eyeliner brush ( Bobbi Brown)

Eye Shadow Brush

I've been using this green concealer stick for the last 2 months, and I really love it.  I am really red around my nose and this takes the redness away.  The green blends better than a Porcelain color to hide red.  Who knew, right?  But, it works.

I really love Maybelline's Stiletto Mascara.  I wear it in Blackest Black

I am a lipstick junkie!  I couldn't even tell you how many I own.  I am really loving Maybelline's Bronze Beam right now.

Here's a picture of me wearing Bronze Beam, with this lip gloss.  I love it!  That's my beautiful sister next to me!  If you have visited Megan before, you're thinking, "Wait a minute, I thought she was a red head too!"  Well, she is. At the moment. But, this pic was taken a while back and she was a full on blond.  She can pull off any hair color, or style and look great!

This is my go to lip gloss, that looks great on top of anything, or by itself.
Mary Kay's Beach Bronze

So, there you have it!  I warned you!  This is the entire rituals if I'm going out, going to church, or going shopping.  But, if I'm just running to the grocery store, I only wear mascara, lips, a little powder and blush.  Hope this helps.  I love to know what other people like to wear.  Because, who knows, if I try it and it works, then I am super excited!

You'll Fall in Love With...

I thought I would start showing you (or at least try to) every week, some of the wonderful things out there.  There are some awesome tutorials and transformations, I just feel the need to share.

Dear Lillie has the made the sweetest and very easy slipcover.

Allora Handmade has the cutest necklaces, bracelets and headbands.  I love this red for Valentine's Day!

I know you have seen this print out there.  I first saw it at Meg's, and loved it this week at Lindsey's The Pleated Poppy.  I went over and ordered up this one  and can't wait to hang it in the kitchen.  You will love The Wheatfield Etsy store.

Last, but not least, I love this before and after Sweet Something Design did with her kitchen.

I also wanted to thank my top referrers for January!

snow, Snow, SNOW!

Look what we woke up to this morning!!!  About 6 inches of glorious snow!!!  This whole week has been a sheet of ice, but I would much rather see this instead.  The kids were suppose to have a 2 hr. delay for school, then school got cancelled and the kids were elated!

This is the view of my front little porch area.  Greatness!!

You can hardly see the street!!  I know that's not a big deal to some people, but here in Texas, we are in heaven!!

The back yard is perfect.  That is, until the kiddos get out there and play.  Ethan has a pretty bad cough, so I think I might have to be a mean momma and not let him go out this morning.  Let's hope he takes that well.  NOT!!!  Hope you are enjoying snow where you are and staying cozy!

Lovin Shabby Blogs!

When I first started blogging back in October, my sister, found this awesome site to get free blog backgrounds!  Shabby Blogs has the cutest templates I have ever seen!!!  I kinda wanted a little change and after playing around (several times) I finally settled on the one you see!!  It is called "Anthropologie!"  Cute name, right?  It is so easy and they have several other items to choose from as well.  I downloaded this cool blog header and then went to Picasa (which I downloaded for free) and wrote the text in the middle.  Super easy!  Everyone should download Picasa to their computer.  You can do all kinds of things to your pictures, like brighten and zoom, change the color, make it black and white, add fuzzy corners or sharpen the picture.  If I take a picture and it comes out a little dark, I know I can edit it and make it brighter!  Love it!
But, here are a few templates that were in the running!

Can you tell I love flowers?  And, there seems to be a theme with the colors!  I guess I must really like the muted taupey gold colors.

They also have a great selection of holiday templates too.  I thought this one was really sweet for Valentine's Day.  So, if you are in a rut with the style of your blog, go check out Shabby Blogs.  I mean it's free, so why not play!?
