Happy Halloween!!

The Cosmetology department had an awesome time dressing up for
Halloween!  The girls really went all out.  We had some pretty good costumes.
The students on campus, came into our department and voted on us, while we
were doing clients.  Yes, we had to work on clients while we were in full costume!
It was a riot!  Here are a few shots of the fun we had!

Yep, that's me!  I'm the Wicked Witch of the West!!  I had so much fun dressing up!
This is my scary faced friend Jordan.  She painted her face all by herself!!
She looked awesome!

Closeup of her awesomeness!

Jamie A.K.A Little Granny.  She was a riot!

Little Granny won 1st place, Scary Face Jordan won 2nd and I won 3rd!!

My sweet friend Jenny!

The hippie on the end, is Brooke.  She won cutest!  She sits next to me and is a living doll!

Me and some of the first semesters.  Jodi, is a zombie prom queen and Amy is dressed as Pink.

My teachers Ms. Henery and Ms. Martin

Hippie Tiffany and Firewoman Jordan.  These girls make my day everyday!

Kristin is dressed as a Texas Rangers fan/fairy.  She is precious!

Here I am doing hair in full costume!  My dress did not breathe one bit and
I was melting!  Get it?  Meeelllltttiinngg!!!

Working on clients. That's my sweet friend, Brittany, poking her head out behind me.

Lauralyn, the bumblebee, was busy all morning giving her client a perm.  She worked so hard
and did such a good job!

Here's the whole gang!

How crazy is it, that in my bathroom, my makeup doesn't even look green?  Creepy!
I hope you all have a safe and fabulous  Halloween!

Halloween Partay!!

My sister Megan and I, hosted our very first costume Halloween party!!!  We had a blast!  It was so much fun decorating the house and getting it ready that we may have to make this an annual thing!  Here are some shots of the house decked out!

I'm not the best at putting out the fake spider webs!  It is an art I have discovered!

I cut out every one of these bats!!!  My Dad made me a template and I put 5 sheets of black construction paper together and cut.  My hand got pretty cramped, but I just knew it would turn out great!

I was a geisha.  I had so much fun dressing up!

My sister was hysterical as "Snookie" from the Jersey Shore!  She played the part to a t!

Here are just a few treats we had out.  We had chicken fajitas, Spanish rice and queso for dinner.  Everything was just yummy!

My husband was an aging samurai!!!  He cracked us up with the facial hair and eyebrows wiggling!

Here is a shot of the front of the house.  My man had a fog machine going and a strobe light on the tombstones.  It looked great at night!

We have the best group of friends that really went all out, but I think they might shoot me if I put them on display!  Hope you all had a great Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!

Another Halloween has come and gone!  October just flew by so fast and now we have to start thinking of Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas shopping!  Here are some pictures of the kiddos this year.  I'll have some great recipes and a flower headband tutorial coming up this week!

Kailey didn't actually want to dress up, but she did want to wear a shirt that said "costume" and wear some make-up.  I just ironed on the letters and found this cute sparkly bow and pinned it on.  I thought she looked too cute AND a little too grown up with that make-up on!

Normally I'm never in the pictures, but this year I wanted one of Kailey and I.

Here is Ethan dressed up as a Clone Trooper from Star Wars!  He loves to pose every chance he gets with his gun.

My little niece, Malone, in her butterfly costume!  She was adorable on her very first Halloween!

Hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween!

A little Practical Magic!

With Halloween coming up, I wanted to share one of my favorite witchy movies.  I not only adore the movie, but fell in love with this house and the kitchen!!  If you haven't seen Practical Magic, starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, you have to check it out this week before Halloween gets here!

The house is actually an empty shell and after the movie was done being filmed, it was torn down!!!  Can you imagine!?

I love this shot!  The house looks so creepy and beautiful all at the same time!

This is a dream of a kitchen to me!  I love how big and open it all is!  The beams are incredible!

The glaze on the subway tiles are gorgeous!  Could you imagine cooking on something like this everyday?

Looking into the breakfast room.  Can you see the open rafters up at the top?  All the rooms were constructed on a sound stage!

Romantic Homes did a spread on this kitchen years ago.  This is one of their pictures.

Breakfast room

Sometimes, when I watch a movie with a gorgeous home, I tend to concentrate on the house more than the movie.  If I go to the movies with friends, they all come out talking about some favorite scene and I'm saying "But did you see that crown molding in the dining room!?"  What can I say?  It's an illness!  Hope you all have a blessed Monday!

Come On In!

Welcome to my entry way!  It is a very long hallway into the house.  I have never liked it very much.  It always felt like  a dark dungeon, until I got our new door with the glass panes.  I love to let lots of light in.  Adding the new door took care of that problem.

The piano was my grandmother's.  It is very old and sadly doesn't work anymore.  But, I wouldn't trade it for the world.  I have to many memories of my grandmother every time I look at it!

I think this old trellis adds some funky interest to this bare wall.

My wicker hats on my chandelier add some whimsy.  When I saw them at Tuesday Morning, I couldn't pass them up!

I can't wait to show you what I found at an estate sale this weekend!  Hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!  God bless
