Just a Few Changes

So, I didn't paint the furniture, but I did do a few simple changes!

~ Before ~

~ After ~

I thought the old mirror was a little dated for my taste.  I don't know about you, but I feel as
though my taste are forever changing.  I wanted something a little more simple.

I found the mirror at Ikea for around $40.  It is a simple oval with beveled edges.  I thought if it doesn't look good, I'll just use it some where else.  The white plates are
some I had in a cabinet. I kept everything else the same on top of the dresser.

Over the bed, I had one lonely platter which needed some buddies.

So, I found 2 more plates to add to it.  I am a plate hangin' fool!!!
You got a plate, I'll find a spot and hang it!!

Love my new Pottery Barn lumbar pillow for $15!!!

We have had this furniture for about 13 years now, and even though the man doesn't want
me too, I still secretly want to paint the dresser and end tables!  Maybe I can talk
him into it.

Found these sconces at Hobby Lobby 3 years ago.  I wish you could see the color better.
The roses are a pretty moss color.

My man gave me these roses on our 10 year wedding anniversary.  I keep everything!
That's my Homecoming Queen tiara.  Yes, I'm a dork!

The bench is off to get recovered and I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Here I go thinking again.  I think I might want new curtains and a rug!
What do you think?

I'm linking up with:

  12. I love the changes you made! It definitely looks more updated now. I want to take out a few pieces of my bedroom suite...and of course the hubs thinks it is unholy to split up a set. Sheesh. So I am just going to paint the end tables and armoir to break up the matchy matchy look. He doesn't like that idea either...but it's my compromise!!! LOL!

  13. If that were my room, I'd find it impossible to get up and leave it! It's sooo beautiful! And that was a super smart move with the dresser. I remember watching a Sarah Richardson episode before and she said never to buy one of those 5pc bedroom sets. She always made it a point to detach the mirror from the dresser to achieve a better look. I love your pictures! Thanks!

  15. The new mirror looks so much better. The old one is lovely but was too heavy for that spot. Maybe you could paint the old one and find a new place for it. The room is looking nice, I'm planning a few bedroom makeovers soon too!

  19. Though I think the dresser would be beautiful painted with different pulls, what you did by removing the predictable mirror and doing what you did above and around the room is amazing. It looks so complete now. Wonderful.
